Committees
BRIDGING THE GAP: Gender-balanced hiring fuels films’ success, but women, nonbinary and trans filmmakers, especially those of color, are still bearing the brunt of industry contraction. This committee is designed to promote and advance women, non-binary, and trans composers when it comes to the studio film level presence and awards nominations.
EU COMMITTEE
This committee plans, organizes, and arranges initiatives and events for our AWFC Europe branch.
FUNDRAISING & SPONSORSHIP
This committee oversees fundraising efforts, managing corporate sponsorships, grants, and donations to sustain our programs.
INSIDE SESSIONS
This committee is in charge of planning, arranging, and hosting monthly Inside Session webinars for our membership.
MERCHANDISE
This committee creates the designs and arranges the sales of AWFC merchandise (clothing, bags, mugs, etc.).
OUTREACH AND INCLUSION
This committee connects and coordinates with other organizations aligned with our vision of diversity and inclusion (such as the Composer Diversity Collective, Film Fatales, etc) to amplify representation for composers of all backgrounds and foster relationships between our organizations. This includes planning roundtables, multi-org events, initiatives, etc.
RECORDING INITIATIVE & SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
This committee is designed to discuss criteria to sponsor members in need of budgetary assistance who have applied to various recording programs (such as VIFF CFA program, JMH Workshop, L-Acoustics workshop, etc.)
SPOTLIGHT
This committee plans, schedules, and organizes interviews of our members to be posted on our socials and in our Weekly Notes newsletter.
UK COMMITTEE
This committee plans, organizes, and arranges initiatives and events for our AWFC Europe branch.
WORKSHOPS & EVENTS
This committee oversees planning, organization, and implementation of AWFC-involved workshops, events, and community meetups globally.
